Venev 6 x 1 Orion Series Bonded Diamond Sharpening Stone for Edge Pro 240 grit

Venev Orion Series Bonded Diamonds are diamond sharpening stones designed for use with Hapstone, TSProf, and all Edge Pro compatible guided knife sharpeners. These diamonds offer excellent performance in sharpening knives of any steel.

The Orion series features a 3 mm-thick diamond-bearing plate mounted on an Edge Pro aluminum base. The diamond-bearing plate contains evenly distributed diamond grains with resin bonding. The manufacturing process for bonded diamonds is more complex than that for coated diamonds, but the result is better feedback and a much longer lifespan for the sharpening stone.

The OCB (Optical Contact Bonding) version of Venev Diamonds utilizes a brand-new yellow binder with no abrasive particles in the composition. The OCB stones are available in fine grits only and offer better scratch-free sharpening results.

All Venev diamonds use the FEPA-F grit classification system. The Orion series is available in 7 grits, ranging from F 60 to F 1200. The F 60 to F 240 grit stones utilize a legacy binder with a 100% diamond concentration, while the F 400 to F 1200 grit stones utilize the OCB binder with either a 25% or 100% diamond concentration. The 25% diamond concentration is better for scratch-free sharpening, while the 100% diamond concentration is better for high performance.

The 240 grit FEPA-F (45 micron) version of the Venev Orion Series Bonded Diamonds features a resin-bonded, wear-resistant legacy binder with a high diamond concentration. These stones are compatible with Edge Pro, Hapstone, and TSProf knife sharpeners and should be used with water. The working surface measures 150 x 25 mm (6" x 1"), with a diamond-bearing layer thickness of 3 mm.
