Boride CS-HD Series Silicon Carbide Sharpening Stone for Edge Pro

The Boride Sharpening Stones are a versatile tool used for sharpening knives on the Edge Pro and Hapstone Pro knife sharpeners. These stones are offered in a wide range of performances and wear rates by Boride. All Boride stones are 6 mm thick and are mounted on high-quality aluminum blanks, providing a longer life cycle compared to the standard 3 mm thick Edge Pro stones, which have become a community standard.

The CS-HD series stones, made of silicon carbide, are designed specifically for sharpening the hardest steels (up to 63 HRC). It is recommended to use the CS-HD stone set to sharpen knives made of hard stainless steel or carbon steel. However, using the CS-HD stones to sharpen soft steel knives is not advised, as this will lead to increased wear on the stones. The coarse CS-HD stones (120 and 150 grit) are often used as a universal coarse stone and perform well in this role.

The 220 grit FEPA-F (60 micron) stone is designed to be used with water, soapy water, or oil, and is compatible with both the Edge Pro and Hapstone sharpening systems. These custom-made stones by Gritomatic have a working surface of 152 x 25 x 6 mm (6" x 1" x 0.25"), mounted on an aluminum blank.
